Other Activities
Field Trips
Several of the faculty take their students on field trips. The trips are usually during class or lab times, although some have used day trips. Trip destinations have included the McGillivray and Leona McKie Muse Wildlife Management Area, Mason Mountain Wildlife Management Area, local private property, and even a local cemetery.
Student Workers
The department employs several student workers as part of on-campus employment through the Financial Aid Office. We use students who are biology majors or minors and have good grades. Student workers will do dishes, keep containers filled, help in the herbarium, help in labs, and many other tasks which greatly help the department function better. If you are interested in being a student worker in the department, contact the Department Chair for more information.
